The price of hybrid cars has increased in the country over the past year.
According to the report of the State Customs Committee, the average export price of a hybrid car in the eight months of 2024 was $28,723, which means an increase of $5,656 or 24.5% over the past year. In January-August of this year, 13,504 hybrid vehicles worth $387,875,000 were imported into Azerbaijan. Compared to the same period in 2023, hybrid cars increased by $165,511,000 or 74.4% in terms of value, and by 3,864 units or 40.1% in terms of quantity. In January-August 2023, the average export price of a hybrid car was $23,067 (39,214 manats).
Transport expert Eldeniz Jafarov commented to Demokrat.az:
“Actually, there was no increase in the price of hybrid cars. You know that for the past year there was a restriction on importing cars older than 10 years into the country. After this rule, cars with a more recent year of production began to be imported. “The prices of new cars are also more expensive than old ones.”
