Argentine President spoke harshly at the UN – video

Argentine President Javier Miley spoke at the UN General Assembly in New York and voiced strong criticism of the organisation, calling it a “many-tentacled Leviathan”.

He accused the UN of hypocrisy and of imposing a “socialist agenda” on its members. According to him, “an organisation whose aim is to protect human rights allows bloody dictatorships like Cuba and Venezuela to enter the Human Rights Council.” He also pointed out that, despite the fact that the UN defends women’s rights, its committees include representatives from countries where women can be punished for showing their skin.

Miley noted that Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East and condemned the General Assembly for its constant condemnation of the Jewish state. Israel’s representative to the UN, Danny Danon, expressed his gratitude to Miley, calling him “a true friend of Israel.”

Miley also criticized the 42-page “Pact for the Future” adopted by the UN on September 22, which deals with the fight against climate change, gender equality and the regulation of artificial intelligence. He stated that “Argentina will not support any policy that involves restricting individual freedoms or trade.” The president called on the countries of the free world to unite in opposition to this pact and proposed creating a new “freedom agenda” for the UN.

The Argentine leader also called the UN’s previous sustainable development agenda a “supranational program of a socialist character.” He noted that the modern UN is “one of the main supporters of the systematic violation of freedom,” supporting dictatorships that violate citizens’ rights and hinder the economic development of poor countries. Miley added that UN bureaucrats are incapable of solving global conflicts such as Russia’s war against Ukraine and instead impose meaningless rules on poor states that limit their development.

Kursor also reported that the UN Secretary-General compared Israel and the Russian Federation.
