Armenian opposition to hold another rally

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the opposition movement “Tavush for the Homeland” in Armenia, announced at a meeting with his supporters that active struggle will resume from October 2 and that he will hold a rally in Republic Square in Yerevan.

Oku.Az Armenian media reports that the meeting will be broadcast live on local news portals.

It should be recalled that the protests in the country led by the head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, began after the news that Baku and Yerevan had reached an agreement on border delimitation in the Tavush region. In fact, Yerevan agreed to hand over to Baku four villages that were part of the Azerbaijan SSR and were controlled by Armenia since the 1990s. The “Tavush for the Homeland” movement demands the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accusing him of unilaterally handing over territories to Azerbaijan.
