Special forces units from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan are conducting exercises in the Orda mountain range in the Turkestan region in the south of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh military department reported.
Representatives of the Jordanian and Kyrgyz armed forces were invited as observers to the exercises called “Brotherhood without Limits.”
According to the Ministry of Defence, the aim of the exercise is to improve the professional training of soldiers in special forces units. Tactical shooting, parachuting and mountain training are being carried out as part of the exercises.
The units were tasked with training to block and destroy an illegal armed group in a populated area.
“The exercises are aimed at exchanging experiences, increasing the level of interoperability of command and control bodies and military contingents, and individual and group training of unit personnel,” – the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Around 300 soldiers are taking part in the manoeuvres. Armoured vehicles, military aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles are involved.
