Half a thousand soldiers will join the 1,200 already working in the affected municipalities
THE 500 army soldiers who will join the aid mechanism for those affected by DANA have started to arrive in Valencia. They will join the 1,200 people who were already working to clear rubble and distribute food, with 400 vehicles and 15 helicopters, in the area devastated by the storm.
The Government Delegation of the Valencian Community reported early this Friday the entry into the Jaime I Base of Bétera of vehicles of the Air Deployment Support Squadron.
Likewise, the aviators of the Sapper Parachute Squadron left at dawn for Valencia from the Alcantarilla Air Base to support the Military Emergency Unit (UME) at ground zero.
According to the Government Delegation, two buses with around a hundred Marines and a heavy column with ten trucks, four light vehicles and a VAMTAC – a military SUV – with 31 Marines in support are circulating there.
