Arrested with baby in arms, driving drunk and swerving on M-30

A 33-year-old Ecuadorian the day before, César Gustavo AG, was arrested by the Madrid municipal police after driving drunk and with his 9-month-old baby in his arms for several kilometers on the M-30.

The events occurred on September 9 at 2:15 a.m. The local police were informed that a Seat Ibiza was driving along Calle 30 zigzagging with the boy, his son, on top. Surveillance cameras in the third ring of Madrid were updated through the police network where the driver was heading, who ended up using the M-30 tunnels.

He took exit 11, towards Méndez Álvaro Street, and the first patrol found him in a traffic lane on that road with the container roundabout. In the middle stood César Gustavo, the car completely closed, the headlights on and the engine running. The municipal police noticed that the driver was completely asleep and that the baby in his arms was awake.

The officers knocked on the man’s windows and door several times, but he did not wake up. After several attempts, the driver opened his eyes just before the police broke the rear window to save the child. The guy rolled down his door window and was disoriented. He couldn’t even open it, so the actors reached through the gap in the window and managed to get the little boy out. They picked him up and wrapped him up, because the child had few clothes on, and they turned off the car engine.

They requested the presence of the Commissioner for Assistance and Protection of Women, Minors and the Elderly (CAPMMM), who sent a call sign and, despite the fact that the telephone number and documents of the mother was in Ibiza, they managed to locate her. She showed up completely drunk, with a deep voice. He said: “I was coming back from a gig and we were both drinking. After an argument at home, he took the baby out of bed and took him away.” The woman had the driver’s papers, which indicated an alcohol level of 0.88 milligrams per liter in exhaled air and 0.82 in the second glass. The maximum is 0.25 He agreed to also undergo a blood test, for which he was transferred to the Security Support Center.

The mother wanted to take care of the vehicle and they tested her: 0.65 milligrams per liter. So they gave him neither the car nor the child. The car was in the name of the baby’s grandmother, to whom the child was delivered, while the seat was transported to the municipal warehouse.

The Ecuadorian was arrested for dangerous driving and under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The CAPMMM opened a minor protection file, which has been monitored for at least two months due to the risks.
