At least 15 people died this Thursday in an Israeli attack against a school in the refugee camp of Yabaliyanorth of Gaza StripAs the spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defense announced, Mahmoud Basal. The Israeli army assured that its attack was directed against a group of militiamen who operated from a “command center” installed in the complex and, as always when attacking civilian infrastructure in Gaza, it accused the Islamist group Hamas to “abuse” this type of structure, which generally accommodates hundreds of displaced civilians. Over the past seven days, Israel has attacked at least four schools in the devastated Palestinian enclave, which often serve as shelters for Palestinians displaced by war. In each case, Israeli forces claimed to have used “precise munitions” to strike Palestinian militias.
According to data from the Gaza authorities, at least 183 centers hosting displaced people, including 163 schools, have been attacked by Israel since the start of the war. More than 1,000 people died in these attacks.
