Nepal experienced prolonged downpours for three days in a row, from the morning of Friday, September 27, to Sunday, September 29.
The country’s capital, Kathmandu, was the worst affected: water flooded houses and three main roads connecting Kathmandu with the rest of the country were blocked due to landslides, Sky News reports.
According to the latest data, about 150 people died and 56 disappeared due to the consequences of the rains, Reuters reports citing local authorities.
During these days, about 240 mm (24 cm) of precipitation fell in Kathmandu, the highest level since 2002, reports France 24.
