A group of 44 migrants, among which there is even 35 minors, they realized illegally access Ceuta During this weekend, two of them were rescued from the water by agents of the National Police, taking advantage of the meteorological instability with a strong east wind in the Strait area.
According to data provided to Efe by police and health sources, this weekend the clandestine entry of 44 people who managed to enter through the Tarajal border breakwater.
On Friday, the entry of nine minors and one adult was recorded; On Saturday, 28 people did so, including 23 minors; and on Sunday, three other adults and three minors agreed.
The migrants threw themselves into the sea taking advantage of the bad weather with a strong waves and winds of more than 30 kilometers per hourwhich these people generally take advantage of to try to reach Ceuta by swimming despite the risk of the crossing.
Various rescues
Two National Police Officers they had to throw into the sea to save two of the Moroccan migrants who were trying to reach Tarajal beach from the water.
The events occurred last Friday at 11:15 a.m., when the two migrants were seen by security cameras at the Tarajal border, heading towards the beach.
The intense waves, accompanied by a strong easterly wind, caused the two young people to serious difficulties in staying afloat.
A National Police patrol arriving in the area noticed the complicated situation of the migrants, so two uniformed agents jumped into the sea to save them from drowning.
The rest of the migrants were in good health, although some of them arrived very exhausted due to the difficulty of entry.
All were transferred to Temporary stay center for immigrants (CETI) – which maintains its occupancy at the limit with more than 700 people although authorized for 512 places – and to shelters for minors, in the case of those who were not adults.
