At least five immigrants died this afternoon when another inflatable boat sank about 93 kilometers east of Lanzarote, and another 17 people were saved by a raft dropped from the sky by the rescue plane maritime which located them.
During the same operation, 80 other people who were also in difficulty in a second inflatable boat close to the previous one were rescued, reported a rescue spokesperson.
