Three workers from the Daorje auxiliary company were injured in an explosion in ArcelorMittal’s coke batteries in Gijón, sources from the multinational steel company informed EFE. The explosion occurred after 2:00 p.m. at the end of Battery 1, in the anti-explosion valves of the feed gas, the sources said.
Sources from the Asturian steel multinational explained that the fire had already been brought under control by the company’s own fire extinguishing service. Three workers from the Daorje company, which provides auxiliary services to ArcelorMittal, were injured and have been evacuated. At the moment, the causes of the explosion are unknown, as is the condition of the injured.
