The accident occurred early in the morning on the Madrid-Palencia-Santander line, in the municipality of Husillos.
At least two people died this Tuesday, in the collision between a train and a car at a level crossing that is on the road that connects the towns of Monzón de Campos and Husillos, in the province of Palence.
The smaller vehicle is believed to have been left under the railway tracks and authorities are now working “to search for other people presumed dead “who could have been ejected from the vehicle.”
The accident occurred around ten a.m. when the Train Alvia Madrid-Santander has overwhelmed tourism in a temporary passage through the works of this section, towards Cantabria, as reported by the Government Sub-delegation in Palencia.
The two deceased They are of Portuguese nationality and there are already bus services between Palencia and Osorno to cover the affected section, as indicated by the same sources.
