Athletics Sunday in Toledo, with the I Carrera Ruta 091 and the Espada National Cross

Great organizational and logistical success of I Solidarity Race Route 091celebrated on the occasion of the bicentenary of the creation of the National Police and with the sponsorship of Banco de Santander and Mupol. The Paseo de la Vega and the surrounding area of ​​Bisagra, in the capital of Toledo, saw the presence of almost 500 runners participating in the absolute category and around a hundred minors running inside the promenade. Juan José Moradillas, with 15:07, and the veteran and incombustible Sonia Ruiz Andrade, with 19:08, emerged victorious. The podium was completed by Ricardo Martínez and David Fuentes for men and Paloma González and Margarita Chivas for women.

Among the illustrious participants, we should mention the mayor, Carlos Velázquez Romo, and the sports councilor, Rubén Lozano Guerra. Also to the international veteran Antonio Núñez, current sports advisor of Talavera de la Reina. Present at the award ceremony were Javier Pérez Castillo, Chief Police Officer of Castilla-La Mancha; Carlos San Román, provincial commissioner; a representative of Banco de Santander, in addition to the famous sub-inspector Virginia Velasco and the president of Marsodeto, Trinidad Escobar.

On the other hand, the Catalan Aarón de las Heras and the Alatoz Rosalía Tárraga from Albacete won yesterday the 45th edition of the national cross “Espada Toledana”, organized on a circuit in the Safont Park and with the participation of around 1,000 athletes among all categories. De las Heras clocked 24:02 over eight kilometers, followed on the podium by Miguel Baidal and Brahim El Ourzadi.
