A 78-year-old man has died as a result of an alleged attack by a large dog in Barrios de la Vega, a municipality belonging to Villaluenga de la Vega, in the Saldaña region of Palencia. The man was attacked by the dog directly in the neck while he was walking, as he himself reported to the emergency services, at 8:21 a.m.
According to the Palencia government subdelegation, the injured man was transferred to the Saldaña health center and, subsequently, the Sacyl medical helicopter was activated for his admission to the Valladolid hospital.
But when health workers tried to stabilize him for emergency transfer, he died. While state security forces are searching for the animal, as it has not yet been located.
