“In recent days, articles related to Azerbaijani martyrs have been massively removed from Wikipedia. We are talking about about 3,000 articles.”
This was stated by technology blogger Farid Pardashunas in his statement to the “Report”.
He said that the writings about the martyrs of the First and Second Karabakh Wars, as well as the April battles, are being erased one after another:
“Azerbaijani administrators are preparing the ground for this. Against this background, preparations were being made to remove articles dedicated to our martyrs from Wikipedia. The main reason is that such articles are not encyclopedic. This preparation was prevented for a long time. Later, administrators who objected were removed from the administration, so they wanted to be given the conditions to edit and remove the person’s article.”
The expert said that those who published the article by Bahruz Samadov accused of treason in five languages are now making serious efforts to delete the articles about Azerbaijani martyrs:
“They should not hide under different names. Examples of them are Jalal Javadov and Aykhan Zayidzadeh. Everyone should know them. I am fighting for this too.”
According to F. Pardaşunas, deleting articles is not enough for Azerbaijani Wikipedia alone. Now they are manipulating the Azerbaijani segment as they see fit.
It should be noted that in recent days articles about Azerbaijani martyrs have been removed from Wikipedia. Among those whose Wikipedia was removed are high-ranking military officers who have several films about them. There is also an attempt to remove articles about the victims of Khojaly.
