The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) begins today in Azerbaijan.
Oku.Az reports that a number of changes have been implemented in Baku’s transport sector in relation to COP29.
During the days of COP29 there will be no restrictions on the arrival of regionally registered cars to the capital from the regions of Azerbaijan. Additionally, cars from the regions are detoured as follows:
– Vehicles entering the city through the 14th kilometer of the Baku-Salyan highway will be directed to the Baku Outer Ring Road from the checkpoint near Lokbatan circle, from there they will be able to go to Badamdar;
– The movement of vehicles coming from Shamakhi-Ismailli will be partially restricted at the check posts to be organized on the Mushfigabad-Khojasan highway. They will be released intermittently in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, returning from the “Shamakhinka” area;
– Traffic moving from Guba-Sumgait will be temporarily reduced at the stall to be organized near the gas station at the entrance to Sumgait City, and will be allowed intermittently;
– Vehicles traveling in the Sumgayit-Novkhani direction will be intermittently released from the post to be installed on the Binagadi-Baksol highway;
– Drivers who want to enter the area called Yasamal and “Shamakhinka” will be intermittently released from the posts that will be organized at these addresses.
Thus, during the event, most of the traffic in Baku will be directed to Bilajari, the bus station and Sumgait.
