The board of directors of the municipal company Aucorsa approved this Friday the award of the contract for the supply, installation and implementation of a new payment system to the company Electronic traffic for an amount of 5,677,971 euros, VAT included.
This new system will allow the renewal and implementation of technological innovations applied to the public bus transport service. Specifically, it will include the supply, installation, integration and commissioning of the pay (ticketing), as well as the information which is offered to the user through new signs at stops and mobile applications.
The proposed solution includes an advanced operating assistance system, which will optimize fleet management to offer the best services to Aucorsa users, among other improvements, with a number of travelers on board the bus.
It is a complete solution for the optimal operation of the transport service that integrates a series of on-board equipment, such as a driving console, contactless cards and QR code reader, including new payment methods via mobile phone or bank card, with connectivity to other systems such as passenger control and counting.
Thus, among its advantages, the solution will allow citizens to use their mobile as another means of payment on the bus, as a virtual transport card, since it will have a mobile application that will unify all the procedures related to the user cardspayments made, consultation of top-ups or trips made.
In addition, the possibility of payment by credit card will be included when purchasing a single ticket or special on board. The new system is expected to be launched gradually during the second quarter of 2025.
