Audi employees in Brussels steal keys to 200 vehicles to demand explanations from Volkswagen

Factory workers Audi In Brussels, the keys were stolen about 200 vehicles demand from the brand’s parent company, the German Volkswagenexplanations on the future of the factory after the latest news on the possible closure of the factories.

The workers warned that no car will leave the factory until they receive concrete information, according to the Belga news agency.

Audi has warned that it will not give in to this type of blackmail and has threatened to file a complaint if the keys are not returned by Monday noon, according to Belga, which points out that security cameras can be used to identify those responsible.

Audi reported in July that the closure of the Brussels plant was not ruled out due to weak demand for the Q8 e-tron electric SUV built there. Around 3,000 workers are employed on this plant.

Volkswagen announced last Tuesday that no new models of the group would be produced in Brussels in the coming years. Faced with this situation, the workers responded with strikes which prevented the resumption of production after the summer holidays. The unions called a day of protest on September 16.
