Authorities have warned citizens against travelling to Ukraine amid the ongoing war.

Israeli authorities have again called on citizens to refrain from travelling to Ukraine due to the ongoing war.

Israel’s National Security Council (NSC) has issued an official warning urging Israelis to refrain from visiting Ukraine, citing the risks posed by the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported this recommendation and stressed the importance of a balanced approach in travel planning.

The agency calls on citizens to carefully evaluate the need to visit Ukraine in the conditions of instability and high danger that persist in the region.

“The security situation in Ukraine remains particularly tense. The ongoing airstrikes and rocket attacks pose a real threat to people’s lives,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

Special attention is paid to citizens with dual citizenship (Ukrainian or Russian) who may be denied exit from Ukraine or Moldova and may also perform military service in accordance with local legislation.

In connection with the ongoing Operation Iron Swords, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that those who decide to travel to Ukraine avoid displays of Israeli and Jewish symbols, large gatherings of people, and remain vigilant.

The Ministry also reminds of the unstable situation in Transnistria, Moldova, and the limited possibilities of assistance to Israeli citizens in this region. It is recommended to plan routes so as not to pass through the so-called Transnistria.

In addition, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a number of instructions for those planning to visit Uman and neighboring countries. A citizen’s passport must be valid for at least six months from the intended date of return from Ukraine to Israel.

Citizens who are prohibited from entering Ukraine will not be allowed to cross the border, so it is recommended to check this issue in advance. Goods subject to customs clearance may be checked at the border, including cigarettes, tobacco products and alcohol to the extent permitted per passenger.

Strict bans on the import of a number of goods are also being introduced. Cannabis, even medicinal cannabis, is only permitted in Israel and cannot be imported abroad. Eating ghat is also only permitted in Israel; it is considered illegal abroad. The import of narcotic substances, as well as items that could be considered weapons, is strictly prohibited.

Importing animal products into Moldova is prohibited. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges citizens to follow these instructions and exercise caution when visiting Ukraine and neighboring countries.

Earlier, Kursor reported that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry addressed its citizens regarding the threat of a large-scale war in the Middle East.
