Autopsy of woman found dead in Santiago apartment rules out violence

THE autopsy performed on 52-year-old woman found dead at her home Saint-Jacques Friday afternoon ruled out a violent death, so everything suggests that died due to an accident while doing domestic work at home.

This was confirmed at EuropaPress sources close to the investigation, who considered from the first moment an accidental death as the main hypothesis according to the analyzes carried out by the Scientific Police in the apartment in the As Cancelas neighborhood where the deceased lived with her family.

The body of the 52-year-old woman was found on Friday noon on the ground by a relative who came to her home alerted after not having heard from her for hours, according to what police sources told Europa Press.

This person’s call to 112 activated a device through which agents of the National Police and members of Santé Urxencias 061 appeared on the scene.

The Santiago police station mobilized forensic officers who collected samples and evidence at the scene, where, in the middle of the afternoon, the judge on duty ordered the removal of the body.

The body of the deceased was transported to the premises of the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Galicia (Imelga) that an autopsy be performed to determine the causes of death.

There, forensic tests ruled out that it was linked to a violent episode. Thus, the police investigation indicates that the woman suffered the injuries that caused her death following an accident while she was cooking.
