The supplier Avia Solutions Group And Boeing announced this Tuesday a first order from the American manufacturer of 40 737-8 aircraft to accelerate its expansion, with the possibility of ordering 40 additional units later, according to a press release. This aircraft model, with a capacity of 162 to 210 passengers, depending on configuration and a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 kilometers), is capable of operating short and medium distance routes. .
For Boeing, the flexibility of this aircraft is “crucial” for an ACMI operator (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) like Avia Solutions, because it “allows you to provide additional capacity to airlines during peak traffic periods or support operations in the event of unexpected aircraft or personnel disruptions.”
This supplier has 11 air operator certificates (AOC), including Avion Express, Smartlynx, Klasjet, Air Explore, BBN, Ascend Airways and Skytrans. These AOCs operate all year round in more than 60 countries on behalf of various scheduled airlines and tour operators.
Its president, Gedimias Ziemelis, stressed that the company was entering a phase clear phase of sustained growth. “These 737 MAXs will strengthen our airline fleets, providing customers with both operational flexibility and greater fuel efficiency,” he added.
