The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusocharged this Thursday with “censorship” of government journalists Pedro Sanchezwho seeks to “scare” them and who considers that it will be implemented through the Democratic Regeneration Plan.
“Even the top officials of the CEI do not know what they are accusing, but they are going to put in their hands the companies, the audiovisual companies, their leaders, the journalists to intimidate them, to persecute the judges and the media, who “This is what they imagined during the five days of love in La Moncloa”, Ayuso said during the plenary session of the Regional Chamber.
Furthermore, in response to the proposal of the PSOE spokesman in the Assembly, Juan Lobato, that regional funding be debated in the Assembly, Ayuso told him that what she was going to propose was “a plenary session of censorship” to talk about everything that is happening in Spain and how “they oppose the press”. At this point, he criticized the fact that it is the government of the nation that must decide “what is biased information, who is a good or bad journalist”.
In the same vein, the PP spokesman in the Assembly, Carlos Díaz-Pache, considered that the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, is a “leader in love” who has prepared a plan of democratic degeneration against everyone, where insults to the king will no longer be criminal but whoever attacks Begoña Gómez will surely not be able to be condemned. “She will not be head of state but she is the queen of his heart and this would not be Sánchez’s plan if she did not have that touch of narcissism,” he said.

The government of Pedro Sanchez presented on Tuesday in the Council of Ministers the Action Plan for Democracy with which he seeks to muzzle journalists and media critical of his management. This project, dressed as if it were a plan for democratic regeneration, also advocates trying to silence the media that report cases of corruption that threaten the executive or Sánchez’s family environment. This project began to take shape when it was learned that the wife of the President of the Government, Begoña Gomezwas charged with influence peddling and commercial corruption.
This action plan by Sánchez advocates “transparency and plurality in the information ecosystem” and reserves the decision to the PSOE executive and Sumar. “what is a media” and who are “the real professionals,” referring to media journalists. Among the measures in this plan, it aims to reform the law on institutional advertising in order to “prevent pseudo-media that promote” hoaxes from being financed with public money, as well as to create a media registry “so that their ownership is known” and to “oblige the publication of the money that public administrations invest in the media.”
The democratic regeneration plan, in addition to directly affecting the media and the companies that manage them, will also have a direct impact on electoral processes with the reform of the electoral law or on institutional communication itself. In the first case, candidates will be obliged to attend electoral debates, although Sánchez himself refused to attend a few years ago. In the second, the Executive wants to expand its own information channels to “have more contact with citizens” and that “it is easier for citizens to know and understand the measures we are adopting to improve their living conditions.”
