The Community of Madrid has launched new initiatives to, through fundraising events, allocate funds to people affected by DANA in Valencia. This was announced on X (formerly Twitter) by the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. These include a popular race, a bullfight (both on December 1st) and two charity performances at the Teatros del Canal.
The bullfight will take place at the Vistalegre Palace at 5:00 p.m. Described on the ticket sales site Bacantix as a “charity festival”, it displays a price of between 15 and 120 euros per venue. Enrique Ponce, Alejandro Talavente and Andrés Roca Rey headline today’s lineup.
The popular race will take place this same Sunday, December 1 at 9:00 a.m. with the title Madrid runs for Madrid. The delivery of t-shirts and numbers will take place at the Mapome Run Center (Aniceto Marinas Street, 52), on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The price of the bib for each method is 12.60 euros. A 0 number is also available for anyone wishing to make a donation even if they do not participate, with a minimum amount of 10 euros. Registrations can be done on this link.
There will be three modalities: 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers and a 2 kilometer family walk (this one starting at 10:45 a.m.), all starting and ending at Paseo de Recoletos. After having covered the Paseo de la Castellana, arrivals will be at the Plaza de Castilla or at Nuevos Ministerios, depending on the type of race.
100% of the profits will be donated to the solidarity account of the Generalitat Valenciana created for the repair of damage and the reconstruction of the areas most affected by DANA, or to the NGOs Cruz Roja and Cártias (the choice between the three options is up to the participant) .
On the other hand, the Teatros del Canal (dependent on the regional government) are also joining this initiative and will donate to the Generalitat Valenciana the collection of almost 20,000 euros corresponding to the two performances on November 29 and 30. Day of nights in Cromagnonsa play by Wajdi Mouawad which presents the Autumn Festival and for which tickets are already sold out.
