Isabel Díaz Ayuso announced this Monday, at the Forum Nueva Economía, that the Community of Madrid will achieve throughout this legislature, which ends in May 2027, a total of 10,500 new rental homes at an affordable price under the Vive plan.

The regional president highlighted the problem of “runaway” property prices in large cities. “In Spain, this has multiplied especially in recent years with interventionist laws “They force apartment owners not to put them on the market because they are afraid of being arrested.”

Faced with this situation, Ayuso indicated that his regional government is working on a set of measures, including the Vive Plan, which will allow these new properties to displace private investments from 1,250 million euroswhich will contribute to the creation of 25,000 direct jobs throughout its execution.

It will therefore soon launch a call for tenders for the first 2,000 housing units exclusively for young people up to 35 years. These future developments will be built under the public-private collaboration model. Of this total, 1,200 will be distributed on plots owned by the regional government located in the capital and in the municipalities of Alcorcón, Colmenar Viejo, Ciempozuelos and Torrejón de la Calzada, and the remaining 800 in Móstoles, Tres Cantos and Alcobendas, as indicated by the Community of Madrid.
