Ayuso wants restaurants to advance their hours to adapt to tourists’ customs

The Government of the Community of Madrid launches “an opening of establishments, bring forward lunchtime and evening hours“to adapt to customs of foreigners.

This was announced by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, during the presentation of the activities organized to mark the recognition of Madrid, European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2024-2025.

According to Ayuso, forecasts for 2024 in the Community of Madrid will exceed the 20,000 million euros of investment for tourism. Thus, he insisted that his government continue to work “to appeal to all audiences”.

“We are launching an opening of establishments, bringing forward the hours to midday and dinner time. In the same way that happens to us Spaniards, when we go out, when we are careless, we do not eat or let’s not have dinner, the opposite too,” Ayuso justified.

The president thus defended that “we we must adapt also to those who visit us, to those who honor us with their visit and trust us.

In fact, a week before announcing this plan to advance schedules to adapt to tourists’ customs, Ayuso used the slogan “Welcoming tourists“, with a sort of nod to Manuela Carmena’s “Refugees Welcome” hung like a banner at the Cibeles Palace.

We want tourists to feel at homein a happy, welcoming and friendly region with everyone, with those who arrive for the first time”, insisted Ayuso. Furthermore, he added his wish “that they choose us to live or that their children do, and that Many young people also decide to come to Madrid to start a new professional life and study.”
