Madrid will grant new aid for sustainable mobility. The executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso will grant for three years a free transport subscription for the C2 tariff zone to all those who scrap a vehicle without an environmental label or aid of 1,000 euros, while at the same time granting a subsidy which can go up to 2,000 euros to those who decide to buy an ECO or Zero Emission vehicle.
This new helpline is included in the Madrid travel planwhose regulatory rules and direct concession procedure were approved this Wednesday by the Governing Council of the Community of Madrid. ANDThe regional executive will invest in this program nearly 8.5 million euros until December 31, 2026. The rules will be published in the Regional Official Journal (BOCM) before the end of this year.
In addition to the free transport pass and assistance with the purchase of a sustainable vehicle, the Mueve Madrid Plan includes the granting of zero-emission mobility environmental bonuses worth 1,250 euros, for the use of shared transport services -car or motorbike sharing- for a period of two years.
The beneficiaries will be natural persons, adults, residing in the municipalities of Madrid, as well as independent professionals and small and medium-sized businesses who develop their economic activity in low-emission zones.
As explained by the Minister of Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, during a press conference, this plan aims to mitigate the impact of traffic limitations, facilitating the access of these groups to more efficient and sustainable vehicles. “30% of these subsidies will return to them, as promised by the regional president,” he said.
The plan also envisages the direct authorization of aid for the acquisition of electric vehicles. So, for the two-wheeled bicycles with assisted pedaling and a power less than or equal to 250 ?W, the regional government will give a maximum of 600 ?euros; for three-wheeled cycles, 1,500 euros; assisted handcycles, 1,000 euros; and two-wheeled scooter-type mopeds, 700 euros.
Taxi and VTC
Likewise, the Regional Executive will propose up to 20,000 euros for the purchase of fuel cell (hydrogen) electric carswhich are intended for the use of taxi or transport vehicle with driver (VTC) services, category M1 (less than eight seats, not including the driver’s seat). Self-employed workers and SMEs can benefit from it.
Currently there is fewer than 10 vehicles of this type are in circulation for Madrid. “It is for this reason that we seek to introduce this sector as a demonstrative example of this new technology, in the same way as what happened with hybrid cars at the beginning,” explained García Martín.
The objective of this new aid is “to promote a new model of sustainable mobility by promoting personal and shared urban transport vehicles which, in turn, contribute to boosting Madrid’s economy and fostering the transition to the circular economy ” he said. » declared the advisor.
These aids are also included in the Moves III plan of the Energy Foundation of the Community of Madrid (Fenercom), the two being incompatible according to regulatory standards.
