The defense of businessman Alberto González Amador, partner of Madrid president Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has launched a legal offensive against the PSOE, Más Madrid and several of its leaders, including minister Diana Morant and Madrid city councilor Rita Maestre, due to defamation lawsuits filed in the capital’s courts.
As defense sources reported to ABC, the defendants also include socialist MP José Zaragoza and PSOE communications director Ion Antolín, based on statements made since it was made public that the prosecution had denounced González Amador for two alleged crimes of tax fraud.
These requests are part of the context of an illegitimate interference in the right to honor due to falsehoods contained in statements that González Amador’s defense considers insulting and/or slanderous. Its filing has as a direct consequence the holding of conciliation acts that, if they fail, could lead to the filing of complaints, that is, already to criminal proceedings.
According to El Confidencial and confirmed by ABC in defense sources, the intention is for them to publicly withdraw statements that, according to them, associate González Amador and Díaz Ayuso with a “non-existent” corruption plot. They are also demanding compensation ranging from 10,000 euros for Zaragoza to the 30,000 euros they are demanding for the PSOE and Antolín himself.
In this sense, the statements for which they are filing a complaint revolve around the information published about the house that Díaz Ayuso and González Amador share, as well as their business activities, as when Minister Morant said in August: “We want to know: ‘Yes, when President Ayuso sits on government councils and grants these contracts to Quirón, she is aware that her romantic partner is an intermediary in these contracts.'”
