Today the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Innovation Center was held in Baku.
The “Report” informs that the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development has been created under the Central Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
The Azerbaijan Innovation Center will play the role of a one-stop center for entrepreneurs, startups and technology innovators.
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov said at the opening ceremony that the creation of a second, larger Innovation Center is planned in Baku:
“AIM is not just an office, but a big player in the ecosystem. Here, startups will participate in incubation and acceleration programs and will have the opportunity to meet with investors, form partnerships and present their projects. The center will also provide the technology community an adequate space to hold your events, which will make communities more effective and create conditions for development, the exchange of experiences, ideas and knowledge.”
“For local and foreign companies that want to operate in Azerbaijan, the Center offers suitable leasing conditions and other advantages. This makes the Center attractive not only for local startups, but also for international companies, and creates an opportunity to evaluate Azerbaijan as innovation, of course, only Baku should not settle,” added the deputy minister.
“AIM is also planned to open in the regions. They will be established in Sumgayit and Ganja in the near future. I am sure that these centers will become places where our innovation-minded citizens living in the regions and innovation enthusiasts in general They will be able to thank everyone who contributed to the creation of this Center, especially the Ministry. I thank the team of the Digital Innovation and Development Agency. These steps taken in the direction of the development of the innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan create a strong foundation for. sustainable economic growth and strengthening our global competitiveness,” said S. Mammadov.
