Private Veli Asaf oglu Abbasov, a soldier from military unit No. “N” of the Ministry of Defense, committed suicide with a gun.

It was reported that, based on the information received, employees of the Shamkir Military Prosecutor’s Office and the Criminalistics and Information Technology Department of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan inspected the crime scene and the body, took away important items for the case as material evidence, as well as received explanations and took other actions:
“According to the facts, a criminal case was opened in the Shamkir military prosecutor’s office under the corresponding article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, witnesses were questioned, a number of experts were appointed, executions were ordered and necessary investigative measures were immediately taken.
The investigation is currently ongoing and all measures will be taken in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.”
