Nazaket Mamedova, a resident of Azerbaijan, was convicted by a Baku court of high treason and espionage for Russia.

According to the prosecution, Mamedova, “acting under the guise” of being a political scientist and journalist, ran the Alfa TV channel on YouTube, which published “pro-Russian materials.” The prosecution claims that the creation of this channel, the organization of interviews and the distribution of certain materials were part of their illegal activities. The prosecution alleged that the woman had allegedly received money from the Russian secret services.
