The 45th World Chess Olympiad kicked off today in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Oku.Az In the first round, the Azerbaijani men’s chess team defeated Jordan 3.5:0.5. Aydin Suleymanli, Nijat Abasov and Rauf Mammadov won. Shahriyar Mammadyarov drew.
The women’s team defeated the Nicaraguan team. Our chess players won the first round with the maximum result. Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beidullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva and Gulnar Mammadova forced the opponent to surrender.
It should be noted that the Chess Olympiad will end on September 23.
