“Tiaen tiamen – Episode 1”: the gestural and vocal heritage of Taiwanese aborigines
Interweaving traditional dance and new technologies with as much delicacy as power is one of the feats of the show. Tiaen tiamen – Episode 1from the Taiwanese dance company Bulareyaung.
Founded in 2015 by Aboriginal choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava, from the Paiwan tribe living in the southeast of the island, this group highlights the gestural and vocal heritage of four Aboriginal communities through seven high-flying male performers.
In a dazzling display of light and sound, the alliance of yesterday and today takes off in a myriad of colours and sensations over irresistible techno beats. Joyously galvanizing, this production, which will be presented in 2023 at Taipei’s National Theatre & Concert Hall, is presented by Chaillot-Théâtre national de la danse, and is a delight. R.Bu

Excéntrico Festival: a choreographic walk under the sign of the unusual and freedom
for your 4my This year, the Excentrics festival, organised by the Briqueterie in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), offers a choreographic aperitif in the style of the unusual and freedom. Among the eleven invited companies, young artists stand out, such as Simon Le Borgne, here in a duet with the drummer Ulysse Zangs, or the Greek choreographer Chara Kotsali, who works on the theme of possession.
They are cousins of more established names, such as Gaëlle Bourges, who portrays amateurs and their memories of dance, Dominique Brun, who revives the extravagant Caryathis (1888-1971), or the researchers Geisha Fontaine and Pierre Cottreau. The styles collide for the best spectacular coexistence with contemporary dance, theatre or waacking. R.Bu
