Barak, a special envoy to Syria and the American ambassador to the Turkic, told National that Lebanon should solve this problem, otherwise he may face an existential threat.
“You have Israel on the one hand, and you have Iran on the other hand, and now you have Syria, which is manifested very quickly, that if the Lebanon does not move, it will become a leftist again”, using the historical name for the Syria region.
He added: “The Syrians say … Lebanon is our coastal resort. Therefore, we must move. I know how upset the Lebanese people are. It upset me. “
The Barak said that the United States, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are ready to help if Lebanian takes the initiative.
Barak submitted a proposal to Lebanese officials last month to disarm Hezbollah and conduct economic reforms to help extract the country from his six -year financial crisis – one of the worst crises in modern history.
The American proposal connects assistance in the reconstruction and stop of Israeli military operations with the disarmament of Hezbollah in all parts of the country.
In response to this proposal, the Lebanese authorities submitted a document with seven pages, calling for the complete withdrawal of Israel from the disputed lands, including Shebaa farms, and confirmation of state control for all weapons, promising to analyze the Hezbollah weapons in the southern Lebanon.
