Begoña Gómez denounces that Complutense canceled its second master’s degree despite “more than 50 pre-registered”

The Complutense University of Madrid has decided to cancel the second master’s degree led by Begoña Gómez, wife of the president of the government. As Gómez herself reported on her LinkedIn, the center announced the cancellation of its master’s degree in Fundraising Management in a “surprising and unilateral” way. According to the businesswoman, Complutense canceled the master’s degree 20 days before the end of registrations and when 50 students had already “pre-registered” in person and online.

The decision comes a week after the same University ordered the elimination of the master’s degree in Continuing Education in Competitive Social Transformation and agreed not to renew the extraordinary chair of which it was part.

For Gómez, the decision is “completely abnormal” and “goes against the fundamental interest of an educational institution, which is to train students in different disciplines.” The reasons given by the university, as the wife of the President of the Government explains in her message, “are linked to the low number of pre-registered students” even if according to her it reaches around fifty, a figure higher than the previous year.
