The director of human resources (HR) of the Instituto de Empresa (IE), Sonsoles Blanca Gil de Antuñano, declared this Wednesday before the judge, Juan Carlos Peinado, that she had not assessed whether Begoña Gómez was fit or not to the position as director of the Africa Center, but simply followed the “instructions” when he was hired. The investigating judge summoned Gil de Antuñano as a witness to continue the investigation into Gómez’s work as head of the IE Africa Center, dependent on IE, between 2018 and 2022. According to sources present in the press release, his remuneration was 55,000 euros per year, in 14 payments.
It should be remembered that on July 29, the judge collected the testimony of the president of EI, Diego del Alcázar Silvela, who, according to legal sources consulted, explained to Peinado that Begoña Gómez was hired because she had an adequate curriculum vitae.
According to the charges, Gil de Antuñano told the judge that he did not know if there had been a selection process. She also pointed out that she had not seen her resume and did not know if she had a degree or not. It should be remembered that Pedro Sánchez’s wife does not have an official diploma.
“They simply told him that he had to write the contract, he wrote it and clarified that he had no personal relationship with Begoña Gómez, neither personal nor telephone,” add these sources.
Gómez was hired “just on August 1, that is, just after her husband was named president of the government,” the accusations point out.
The judge asked for copies of the monthly payments made to Begoña Gómez based on her contract and in which accounts.
