Begoña Gómez ordered a senior Moncloa official to ask Reale to continue financing his chair

Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, ordered the director of programs of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Cristina Álvarez, to urge the company Real Insurance to continue financing the chair she directed at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

This is clear from an email, to which OKDIARIO had access, that Cristina Álvarez, senior manager of Moncloa, sent on February 8, 2024 to Pilar Suárez-Inclán, director of communications and corporate reputation of the Reale insurance company, which financed this academic. project led by Begoña Gómez.

Begoña tells me to transfer you that he would like you to continue to be patrons of the Chair, even if it is with a lower quantity. Ready to collaborate with you for whatever you need,” Cristina Álvarez told Suárez-Inclán.

This email was sent from Álvarez’s personal accountone from @gmail.com, but the case includes another email that the presidency’s program director sends from an official domain. This already includes government letterhead and a logo of the Palace of Moncloa.

In this second email, dated November 2021, the senior Moncloa official also mentioned Sánchez’s wife. “As you agreed with Begoña, I will send you the technical data so that you can do…” says Álvarez, Reale’s communications and corporate reputation manager.

Chair sponsors

Reale Seguros was one of the sponsors of Sánchez’s wife’s competitive social transformation chair at the Complutense University of Madrid. The rector of the UCM himself, Joaquín Goyache, recognized that Gómez told him that he already had the commitment and financial support of both to launch his chair at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Representatives of the two institutions testified in August this year as witnesses before the president of the Court of Instruction number 41 of Madrid, Juan Carlos Peinado. Representatives of the companies that financed the President of the Women’s Presidency of the Government, Reale Seguros and La Caixa, admitted in their statement before Judge Peinado that they did not know that Begoña Gómez did not have an official diploma, as OKDIARIO revealed it in 2018.
