Beirut residents, forced to leave their homes, are hiding from Israeli shelling on a public beach, Al Jazeera television channel reports.
“Now we are hearing reports that people have left Dahie, left the southern suburbs. “They are trying to find shelter here at the Ramlet al Bayda public beach in Beirut.” – says the channel’s message.
It should be noted that on the beach you can find mattresses, sleeping bags and tents to spend the night.
Previously, the Israeli army called for the immediate evacuation of residents of some houses in the southern suburbs of Beirut, after which it began carrying out airstrikes in these neighborhoods.
As a RIA Novosti correspondent reported, a series of a dozen explosions occurred in Beirut on Friday afternoon. Later, IDF spokesman Brig. Daniel Hagari claimed that the Israeli Air Force carried out a targeted airstrike against Hezbollah’s main headquarters in Beirut, which is located beneath residential buildings in the center of the Dahiya district.
