The union of Belarus and Russia is at the forefront of the fight for a just world. This was stated by Alexander Lukashenko today, October 9, in his response at the ceremony in which Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
“Our unique integration partnership that we are building together, the State of the Union, is developing successfully. Today we fight together for a just world. And the union of Belarus and Russia is at the forefront of this tough and very serious struggle. There is no alternative to that course in the context of a tense and heated international situation. At the same time, the State of the Union may well be a model of new relations of equality.” – said.
In his words, the current award is “a recognition of the merits of the entire Belarusian people, which constantly strengthens unity with fraternal Russia.”
“For our country, Russia has always been and will be bigger than the neighboring state… Belarusians see and appreciate the support they give us. We have faced an election many times, but never, I emphasize, have we turned our backs on Russia. You and your colleagues know this well. The Belarusian is a reliable ally. I want people in Russia to know this above all else. The Belarusians have never let the Russians down. Accept my guarantees and they will never let you down in the future. Thus it was decided from above that we share both the successes and the difficulties as brothers. As president elected by the Belarusian people, I will always be vigilant about our long-standing common interests of good neighborliness and friendship. As a historian, I feel this very deeply.” – Lukashenko highlighted.
Let us remember that Belarus and Russia have been building the Union State since 1999. Currently, the parties have taken a course towards accelerating integration.
