Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Belarus have a promising future. This was stated by the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Minsk, Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Al-Musharrah, during the celebration of the 53rd National Day of this country.

“Relations between the UAE and Belarus have a promising future, particularly after Belarus receives the status of a member of the SCO and a partner of the BRICS, two key blocs of the emerging new world order. The participation of the two countries in the Conferences of the Parties on Climate Change strengthens the relationship and opens new opportunities where the resources of both countries will be used to combat the problem of climate change and find solutions for sustainable development, which will positively impact the citizens of both countries and the world. According to him, Belarus has economic potential and many investment opportunities.

“The tangible development of relations between our countries at the political level is manifested in the holding of high-level meetings, which reflect the strong friendship that unites the Emirati and Belarusian peoples, and are characterized by mutual respect and common interests. through close cooperation between the political leaders of both countries. Meetings of the leaders of the two countries, meetings between ministries and mutual visits of official delegations are held regularly.” – pointed out the ambassador.

He also stressed that “economically the United Arab Emirates are Belarus’s first and most important partner in the Middle East and North Africa.

“The UAE and Belarus are striving to increase the volume of mutual trade. Several economic agreements have been signed between the two countries aimed at promoting trade and opening markets. The volume of trade in non-oil goods between the two countries in 2023 increased fivefold compared to 2022.” – said the head of the diplomatic mission.

Furthermore, he later recalled that “in recent years, relations between the United Arab Emirates and Belarus have been actively developing.”

“Our countries are striving to strengthen cooperation in various fields and bilateral cooperation is developing rapidly in many areas that are vital for both countries. The countries have signed 14 agreements and 26 memoranda of understanding in the political, economic and cultural fields. The positions of the two countries coincide on many key issues on the regional and international agenda, including the rejection of interference in the internal affairs of States.” – the diplomat stressed.

Let us remember that Belarus is subject to strict Western sanctions. In this sense, Minsk tries to expand relations with friendly countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
