Belarus’ GDP growth rates began to slow down

Belarus’ gross domestic product increased by 4.9% in the first eight months of this year, the press service of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic announced today, September 17.

“The volume of GDP in current prices amounted to 158.4 billion rubles, or in comparable prices, 104.9% of the level of January-August 2023,” – says the message.

At the same time, a month earlier it was reported that the Belarusian economy grew by 5.5% in January-July. Thus, its monthly growth decreased by 0.6%.

Let us recall that the Belarusian economy in 2023 showed positive dynamics of 3.9%. For the current year, the Belarusian authorities have forecast a GDP growth of 3.8%. According to the plans of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, in 2025 the republic’s GDP will increase by 4.1%.
