Security and defence of the state border in the south of Belarus have been strengthened, including by deploying additional military formations and units, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich said.
“In order to adequately respond to the current situation… we have strengthened the security and defence of the state border in the south of Belarus, including by mobilising and deploying additional military formations and units of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations,” – Volfovich said in an interview with the magazine Defensa Nacional.
He stressed that these units have occupied combat areas and are taking measures to improve defensive lines, primarily in engineering, in order to eliminate as much as possible the possibility of a surprise attack, including the use of heavy military equipment.
“At the same time, special attention is paid to increasing the effectiveness of the comprehensive system for combating unmanned aerial vehicles and anti-sabotage actions.” – Volfovich pointed out.
