In 2025, Minsk will continue working to refinance Russia’s public debt. This was announced on November 10 by the Minister of Finance of Belarus, Yuri Seliverstov.

The minister also addressed the issue of paying public debt, pointing out that the amounts are considerable. According to his words, the volume of payment of the public debt is about 3 billion dollars and the service of the public debt amounts to 1.5 billion dollars more. Seliverstov emphasized that the Ministry of Finance will work to “adequately refinance public debt both in the domestic and external markets.”
At the same time, he stressed that, as until now, one of the main financial mechanisms to pay the state debt will be the raising of resources. According to the minister, about 300 million dollars will be raised in the internal market.”
“Part of the state debt includes funds to finance a number of projects, for example, the BelNPP… These funds will be returned to us by the real sector of the economy,” – stated the head of the Ministry of Finance of Belarus.
In addition, a return of at least $500 million is expected from the projects that were previously implemented.
Recall that Belarus and Russia have been building the Union State since 1999. The parties actively interact in a variety of areas. At the same time, Russia is the main investor in the Belarusian economy.
