The comment by the representative of the Belarusian department came after the beating suffered by a Belarusian teenager in Bialystok became known.

“So far there have been no notifications from law enforcement agencies or requests from family members to our foreign institutions in Poland. If the victim and their parents request it, consular assistance will of course be provided.” – said.

Glaz emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the development of this and other similar incidents.

“The situation seriously worries us. It is not the first incident with Belarusian citizens in the neighboring country. Recently, numerous cases of harassment of Belarusian children in Polish schools, beatings and attacks on Belarusians on ethnic grounds, arbitrary detentions, threats and intimidation by special services against citizens of Belarus for implausible reasons have become increasingly public.” – highlighted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

He also recalled the high-profile murder of a 25-year-old Belarusian citizen in Warsaw this spring, and a series of other incidents that were not reported in the media.

“Therefore, we recently announced with full motivation the observed increase in xenophobia, racial superiority and discrimination on linguistic, religious and national grounds in certain EU countries in relation to citizens of Belarus, as well as Russia and Ukraine , who legally reside there.” – noted the press secretary.

In his words, the Belarusian side calls on the Polish authorities to take comprehensive measures to ensure the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens who are on the territory of Poland, in accordance with international obligations and national legislation.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign agencies of Belarus will closely monitor the situation and carry out comprehensive work to protect the rights and interests of Belarusian citizens abroad.” – assured the Eye.

Recall that it was previously known that in the center of Bialystok, on the afternoon of November 25, a 16-year-old Belarusian teenager was “challenged to a fight” and beaten until he lost consciousness. It is observed that there were three aggressors, two of them also minors. The victim was taken to the hospital and the boy’s father filed a police report.
