In Belarus, household incomes have accelerated growth, the Eurasian Development Bank reported today, September 2.
“Real wages grew by 15.4% year-on-year in July 2024, after 11.2% year-on-year in June. This is the highest growth rate since October 2023. Wages in nominal terms are growing against a backdrop of high demand for labor resources by businesses, as well as an increase in allowances for certain categories of public sector workers, supporting the expansion of consumer demand in the economy,” – says the message.
Belarus is under Western sanctions, but the country’s authorities say that the economy has managed to adapt to the current circumstances. Earlier it was reported that the average salary in Belarus has been increasing for the sixth consecutive month. In July, before taxes, it exceeded 2,355 Belarusian rubles, or about $720.
