Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko signed a decree introducing licenses for the export of white cabbage, apples and onions from the country, the press service of the Belarusian government reports on the Telegram channel. The restrictions will be in effect for three months.
“The export of these products, regardless of the country of origin, outside the Republic of Belarus will be carried out through unique licenses issued by the MART (Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade).” – says the press release.
They clarified that the Ministry will issue licenses in agreement with the Minsk City Executive Committee.
At the same time, the decision to issue will depend on how much the country needs these products at the time of license approval. The government emphasized that such measures were taken to fully supply the domestic market with out-of-season agricultural products.
In 2022, Belarus introduced licenses for the export of potash fertilizers from the country. Decisions on licensing should also have been made by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, based on the decisions of the Council of Ministers, RBC reminds.
