The Prosecutor’s Office of the Donetsk People’s Republic has sent a case to court against a Belarusian militant who fought as part of the so-called Kastus Kalinovsky regiment, the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation reported.
“The Prosecutor’s Office of the Donetsk People’s Republic approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 28-year-old Belarusian citizen Yana Dyurbeiko. He is charged in absentia under paragraph 3 of article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict),” – says the message.
According to investigators, “from February to July 2022, Dyurbeiko participated as a mercenary in hostilities on the side of Ukraine at several combat contact points.” For these actions “he received a reward equivalent to more than 300 thousand rubles.”
“Dyurbeiko has been included in the international wanted list and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of his detention in absentia. The criminal case has been referred to the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic for consideration on the merits.” – the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation reported.
Recall that after the start of a special military operation, Belarusian radicals created several of their own military units in Ukraine. The current “Kalinovsky regiment” is recognized in Belarus as an extremist formation. Yan Dyurbeiko, after participating in battles on the side of Ukraine near Lysichansk, was captured in June 2026. Another Belarusian militant was captured with him: Sergei Degtev.
