Best piquillo pepper tapa from Lodosa of 2024

THE VIth edition of Master Tapas with Piquillo Lodosa Pepperwhich took place this year in the city of Lodosa itself, crowned Alma Moreno, from the Superior School of Hospitality of Madrid, as winner for her cover “Piquillo Bomb”crowned best of 2024.

The competition, organized by the Regulatory Council of Piquillo pepper DOP from Lodosa In collaboration with Reyno Gourmet, it brought together students from hospitality schools across Spain.

In its initial phase, more than 50 participants registered, of which 8 reached the final which took place this Thursday at the House of Culture of Lodosa. In this last phase, the competitors had to prepare your tapas under the same conditions: a maximum duration of 45 minutes, with the same resources and materials and, of course, with the tension of live competition.

The dishes were evaluated by a jury chaired by chef Sergio Fernández and composed of Nicolás Ramírez, chef of the Tubal de Tafalla restaurant, and Jesús Aguirre, president of the Regulatory Council of the Pimiento del Piquillo de Lodosa PDO. The jury members evaluated aspects such as flavor, the presence of Lodosa pepper, presentation and cleanliness of the tapas.
