Biden asked Trump for help in efforts to free hostages held by terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
A report by Axios journalist Barak Ravid said that in the meeting, which lasted two hours, Biden suggested that Trump work together to achieve a ceasefire and hostage agreement between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group.
According to sources, on November 13, Biden held a meeting with the families of American hostages held captive by Hamas. He told them that during a conversation with Trump they reached a consensus on the urgency of this problem and the need to resolve it before January 20, the day of the new president’s inauguration.
The families of the hostages have also requested meetings with newly appointed members of Trump’s team to urge them to immediately participate in the process of releasing those kidnapped in Gaza.
Additionally, the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, shared details of a conversation with current President Joe Biden at the White House. Among the topics discussed were the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. Trump noted that the meeting took place in a positive atmosphere and emphasized that he and Biden “were happy to have this meeting” and had a “very meaningful conversation.”
According to Trump, the discussion was long and required significant effort, but he noted that Biden did a good job running the campaign and working on other fronts. Trump said they touched on Ukraine, where he expressed his intention to quickly end the war after taking office, and asked Biden about the situation in Eastern Europe. They also paid considerable attention to the current situation in the Middle East.
Trump emphasized that he wanted to know Biden’s position and received detailed responses, noting his courtesy. They agreed to meet again before Trump’s inauguration.
