According to one of the sources, the president has told the families that he and Trump want to secure the release of the hostages before January 20, the day of the inauguration of the new president-elect.
According to the portal, during a two-hour conversation with Trump, Biden called for joining forces between Israel and Hamas to reach an agreement on the return of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
It was noted that Biden wants to use the remaining two months of his presidency to break the “long deadlock” in negotiations over Gaza.
The portal believes that Trump, most likely, wants to face Inauguration Day with fewer crises in the world. According to Jake Sullivan, national security assistant to the US president, the White House has sent a signal to Trump’s team that they are willing to work together to free the Gaza hostages.
