Biden criticizes Netanyahu amid negotiations with Hamas

US President Joe Biden commented on negotiations between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas.

He expressed doubts that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was doing enough to achieve this goal.

“We are very close to a deal on the hostages and I don’t think Netanyahu is doing enough,” the US leader said.

The White House has previously stressed that the United States is actively working on this issue and plans to hold a meeting on Monday with the American negotiating team that is promoting an agreement between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group.

The meeting, which Vice President Kamala Harris will also attend, was included in Biden’s updated agenda following the tragic incident in which six hostages, including American Hersh Goldberg-Paulin, were killed by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. The White House said the president and vice president will discuss with negotiators ongoing efforts to secure the release of the remaining hostages. The United States, along with mediators from Egypt and Qatar, spent several months trying to achieve a hostage exchange and a ceasefire in Gaza.

In addition, Cursor reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu harshly criticized the general strike organized by the Histadrut labor union, calling it a “shameful display” of support for Hamas and its leader Yahya Sinwar. The announcement was made during the weekly cabinet meeting.
